Welcome to Screen Shots! This is where I tell you what sporting events you should watch on TV every week! Make sure you subscribe, so it comes straight to your inbox! Have your own suggestions? Shoot me an email at [email protected]!
As you will notice, the Premier League is starting up this week! After how much fun I had keeping up with the World Cup, I’ve made it my mission to follow club soccer. That means you get to keep up with my journey to find a favorite club! Check it out!
A little shorter this week, thanks to failure after failure due to shitty internet service from a company whose name rhymes with smeXfinity, but action-packed as well! Use any typos as confirmation that I’m not AI. Now, to the sports!

Little League Baseball World Series: Coverage begins at 12:00 pm (ET) on ESPN and ESPN2
All of the games are entertaining, but the one that caught my eye is the 4:00 pm matchup between Japan and Curacao. These two are always strong contenders on the International side of the bracket, so it’s crazy that we get a matchup between them this early. The final game is at 6:00 pm on ESPN2.
NFL Preseason: Las Vegas Raiders @ Houston Texans at 8:00 pm (ET) on ESPN
The Raiders are one of those teams who make the league more fun when they’re good. At least, I think so. It’s hard to remember because they’ve only made the playoffs twice since 2003. They probably won’t be good this year, but they should be intriguing, and that’s the next best thing. #1 overall pick/cyborg Fernando Mendoza looked good in his preseason debut. Their previous two first-round picks, Ashton Jeanty and Brock Bowers, have shown flashes of greatness in their short careers. I might be able to talk myself into them as a playoff contender this season if they weren’t in a stacked AFC West. Keep an eye on them!

Little League Baseball World Series: Coverage begins at 1:00 pm (ET) on ESPN
Matches TBD at the time of publication! Doesn’t that sound fancy? That’s going to be the case for the rest of the LLWS entries this week.
WNBA: Minnesota Lynx @ Washington Mystics at 7:30 pm (ET) on ION
Speaking of intriguing teams, the Mystics should have our attention. Their young core has them on track for the franchise’s best record since 2022. Scroll back in your camera roll to 2022 and tell me that’s not a long time. That was also the year Shakira Austin finished second in Rookie of the Year voting. Injuries got in the way of her fulfilling her obvious potential, but she’s been healthy and incredible all season. All three of Washington’s 2025 first-round draft picks have also played crucial roles in their success this season. As the postseason approaches, how do they measure up against the league’s best?

Premier League Soccer: Manchester United @ Hull City at 7:30 am (ET) on USA Network
Hell yeah, it’s time! The perfect background noise to your child spilling his milk all over the floor while you try to make him pancakes! Watch the episode at the beginning to see where these two teams rank in my Premier League fandom race!
Little League Baseball World Series: Coverage begins at 1:00 pm (ET) on ESPN
Do you like surprises?
LALIGA Soccer: Real Madrid @ Espanyol at 3:30 pm (ET) on ABC
There is no “picking a LALIGA team” series because we just follow Kylian Mbappe around here. Honestly, I should be hated much more for this than I am for being a Dodgers fan. Real Madrid is a “Who’s Who” of soccer greats, featuring not only Mbappe but also World Cup stars Yan Diomande, Vini Jr., Thibaut Courtois, and Jude Bellingham. I can’t imagine my Premier League team will be nearly as stacked!

Little League Baseball World Series: Coverage begins at 9:00 am (ET) on ESPN and ABC
Getting started early today! The 1:00 pm game is on ABC.
Premier League Soccer: Bournemouth @ Manchester City at 9:00 am (ET) on USA Network
Let’s put the remote to work. Bournemouth is dealing with a PR nightmare after firing a football steward who had worked for them for 50(!) years via email. The fact that he was even able to open his email proves to me that he should still have a job. I find the easiest way to avoid PR nightmares is to not act like a dickhead. Bournemouth will be moving down in my rankings. Also, Erling Haaland will make them pay even more.
College Volleyball: #8 Texas A&M Aggies vs. #11 SMU Mustangs at 1:00 pm (ET) on ESPN2
It is indeed that time of year again! In case you forgot, the Aggies are your defending national champions. Does this mean as much to them as a football national title would? Probably not, but beggars can’t be choosers!
NFL Preseason: Seattle Seahawks @ Tennessee Titans at 8:00 pm (ET) on Fox
Poor preseason performances be damned, Netflix’s Quarterback has turned me into a Cam Ward fan. This kid is hilarious and a hard worker. I badly want him to figure it out, but I’ll be supporting even if he’s sorry. I’m watching the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks on HBO’s Hard Knocks, but nobody has really jumped off the page there. Except for Buttercup the Goat, obviously.

Little League Baseball World Series: Coverage begins at 1:00 pm (ET) on ESPN
Can you believe this heat wave? My goodness.
MLB: Tampa Bay Rays @ Detroit Tigers at 6:40 pm (ET) on FS1
As mentioned by Brett on the MLB Trade Deadline episode, the addition of C Liam Hicks to the Rays’ already-potent offense was a masterful move. Hicks’ bat has allowed manager Kevin Cash to mess around with the lineup to provide more protection to star Junior Caminero. As a Dodgers fan, this is the scariest AL team to me.

Little League Baseball World Series: Coverage begins at 1:00 pm (ET) on ESPN
Also, this is the last week without college football!
MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers @ Atlanta Braves at 7:15 pm (ET) on TBS
Speaking of my Dodgers’ fandom, I’ll be at this game!
Wednesday, August 26th, 2026
Little League Baseball World Series: Coverage begins at 1:00 pm (ET) on ESPN
Remember Hardball? Great movie and incredible soundtrack. I feel like a good soundtrack is a lost art.
WNBA: Toronto Tempo @ Seattle Storm at 10:00 pm (ET) on USA Network
