  • College Softball World Series: Coverage begins at 12:00 pm (ET) on ESPN

Last year’s finalists, Texas and Texas Tech, each needed to win a do-or-die Game 3 on Sunday to advance. The Red Raiders did so in especially spicy fashion against Florida. Their star slugger, Mia Williams, transferred in from Florida. Apparently, things did not end well for her in Gainesville.

A Gator fan allegedly hit her little sister in the stands after confronting the family about Williams’ mom’s Facebook posts trashing Florida coach Tim Walton. The incident initially led to Williams’ dad being escorted out of the stadium, before he was allowed back in, and the Florida fan was escorted out in a little security switcheroo. In between being hit by pitches five times over the course of the 3-game series, Williams managed to homer. Her dad celebrated this home run by yelling at the Gators’ dugout and mockingly doing the Gator chomp. This is made approximately 52 times better by the fact that Williams’ dad is none other than former NBA player/former Randy Moss high school teammate/former Florida Gator Jason “White Chocolate” Williams.

Walton was ejected in Florida’s 16-7 elimination game loss, a move Jason Williams claimed was intentionally done so that he wouldn’t have to shake his daughter’s hand post-game. If so, it was unnecessary as nobody shook anybody’s hand post-game. This was controversial because we are still holding on to stupid traditions. Anyway, if this set of games has anywhere close to this amount of entertainment, it’ll be well worth your time to watch.

  • NBA Playoffs: Oklahoma City Thunder @ San Antonio Spurs at 8:30 pm (ET) on NBC

Well, if you are fighting to stay alive, what better place to do so than at home? Victor Wembanyama looked gassed as the Thunder ran away with a pivotal Game 5 win in OKC. Meanwhile, Oklahoma City is looking to finish the job here so they don’t look gassed in their return to the Finals, where the Knicks will be waiting well-rested after a second straight series sweep. I’ve made it a point not to mention officiating, but the team that has made the most free throws has won every game in this series. Interesting!

  • NHL Playoffs: Montreal Canadiens @ Carolina Hurricanes at 8:00 pm (ET) on TNT

Game 4 will not be finished by the time I finalize the newsletter. Hell, it might not be done by the time you read it because they’ve gone to overtime twice in this series already. Few things match the intensity and excitement of a sudden-death hockey OT. It’s come to my attention that Carolina also has a player named Jalen. So, yeah, you’re going to want to see this.

  • Men’s Soccer: Paris Saint-Germain vs. Arsenal at 12:00 pm (ET) on CBS

The UEFA Champions League Final! The top teams in all of Europe have battled it out, and now it comes down to this. PSG is looking to repeat as champions after claiming its first title last year. Arsenal has never won, and their only other appearance in the final was back in 2006. However, they just won their first Premier League title since 2004, so maybe this is just a history-making year for them. We’ll see!

  • NWSL: Utah Royals @ Portland Thorns at 4:00 pm (ET) on ION

I feel like the NWSL matchups we’ve covered up to this point have been a little lopsided, so imagine my surprise when I saw this showdown between the teams tied atop the league standings. The Thorns are led by the high-scoring trio of Sophia Wilson, Olivia Moultrie, and Reilyn Turner. They’ll try to slow down Royals’ star Mina Tanaka, who plays internationally for Japan. She was named MVP of the 2025 SheBelieves Cup.

  • WNBA: Las Vegas Aces @ Golden State Valkyries at 3:30 pm (ET) on NBC

If you like defense and shooting 3s, then have I got a team for you! I was skeptical of Golden State’s chances heading into the season, because they lack a true #1 scoring option. That’s still true, but they’ve worked around it by simply not letting their opponents score. Genius! Their defense is giving up a league-best 76.3 per game. The Valkyries’ offensive game plan is “make as many 3-pointers as possible”, and so far, so good. They lead the W with 11.3 makes per game with the second-best 3-point shooting percentage. How sustainable is this? Time will tell. Last year’s champs are the perfect test in the meantime.

  • MLB: Chicago Cubs @ St. Louis Cardinals at 7:20 pm (ET) on NBC

Has there been a player who has gone from well-liked to hated simply because we got to know him better than Pete Crow-Armstrong? In the latest incident, he was fined an undisclosed amount after telling a trash-talking female fan to “suck my dick, bitch.” Cubs fans might not have minded that so much, seeing as though it was a White Sox fan, but how long until his play starts to turn them against him, too? Through July of 2025, he hit .272 with 27 home runs and 78 RBI. Since then, he’s batting just .207 with 10 home runs and 40 RBI. Even worse, someone pointed out that he looks like Scut Farkus from A Christmas Story. Let’s boo this man together!

  • College Softball World Series: Coverage begins at 12:00 pm (ET) on ESPN and 7:00 pm (ET) on ESPN2

These games will determine who advances to the championship series, so keep an eye on them!

  • WNBA: Seattle Storm @ Dallas Wings at 8:00 pm (ET) on USA Network

If you had forgotten about 2021 #2 overall pick Awak Kuier, now is a great time to refresh your memory. After playing three seasons with the Wings, Kuier opted to play in Europe in each of the last two years, but she’s back and appears to have taken a significant leap in her development. The 6’6” forward dropped a career-high 16 points in 17 minutes against the Dream on May 22nd. Two of the Storm’s bigs, Ezi Magbegor and Dominique Malonga, are out with injury, so the onus could fall on much-hyped rookie Awa Fam to slow Kuier down.

  • MLB: San Diego Padres @ Philadelphia Phillies at 6:40 pm (ET) on TBS

These teams just played, and the Padres trolled Bryce Harper on their Jumbotron after the entire world learned that he applies toothpaste like an absolute psychopath. With this one being in Philly, they should ask Fernando Tatis Jr. how he applies ringworm cream. However, judging by his 0 home runs on the season, he may not remember.

  • College Softball World Series: Coverage begins at 8:00 pm (ET) on ESPN

Game 1 of the Championship Series!

  • NBA Finals: New York Knicks @ TBD at 8:30 pm (ET) on NBC

The Knicks in the NBA Finals on NBC? Am I about to graduate from Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary School again? New York has breezed through the postseason in a way that has surprised me. Jalen Brunson is on the cusp of proving both me and Becky Hammon wrong about being capable of leading a team to a title at his size. The Knicks will have their hands full no matter which team from the West they face off against, but they will certainly be more well-rested and healthier than either potential opponent. A good Knicks team is great for the league, so this will be a fun watch.

As always, thank you for reading! Make sure you’re subscribed so you get this in your inbox first thing Thursday mornings! Also, share with your friends! See you next week!
