I’ve got some Beyond The Arc stuff planned soon, but for now, The Best College Football Show with Brandon and P.D. is back with a recap of Lane Kiffin taking an L in his return to Ole Miss, the South Carolina Gamecocks disappointing us for the 8 millionth time, and a preview of this week’s best games!

Now, to the sports!

A couple of HBCUs facing off on one of the sport’s biggest networks! Tuskegee is looking for revenge after Benedict won last year’s matchup in Columbia, SC pretty easily. Unfortunately for the Golden Tigers, that will be an uphill battle as the non-golden Tigers are 3-0 to start the year. Tap in to find out the superior tiger!

The final game of the WNBA regular season. You’ll see the Aces in the postseason, of course, but say goodbye to the team they beat in last year’s WNBA Finals. An incredibly disappointing season for the Mercury. They’ll have a lot to figure out this offseason as Alyssa Thomas, Kahleah Copper, Sami Whitcomb, and Natasha Mack are the only players under contract for next year. Item #1 will most likely be convincing midseason acquisition Kelsey Plum to return. You’ll probably want to bid the rest of them farewell.

Look, these Army kids need this one. Imagine signing up to protect a country that doesn’t take care of its civilians or veterans, and then the White House brings in the motherfuckin’ Paul brothers to give you a pep talk. I would have developed bone spurs in my foot so fast your head would spin. On top of all that, the last time we saw Army’s football team in action, they gave up the game-losing touchdown with 19 seconds left.

They face off with a team coming off its own brutal loss. The Owls just had to hold onto a two-touchdown lead for like a minute and a half, but blew it in 11 seconds. They answered Toledo’s OT touchdown, but failed to convert the 2-point conversion. To make matters somehow even worse, they also have an even worse potential pep talk option at their disposal. Pretty even matchup on the field, though, so leave work early!

I’ve always loved basketball, even during my early teenage years as a fat boy. I was able to overcome this and still be a somewhat effective player due to my dedication to playing fundamentally sound basketball. These fundamentals plus my waffle complexion earned me the nickname “Tim Duncan” after The Big Fundamental himself. Imagine how thrilled I was to learn that his daughter, Sidney, is a middle blocker for Stanford. Teenage body issues aside, this is also a great ACC matchup between two potential national title contenders!

Hell of an SEC slate today, starting with this one. Arch Manning leads Texas into his Uncle Peyton’s old stomping grounds of Neyland Stadium. The Vols have flown under the radar to start the season, but have a strong rushing attack along with one of the nation’s best freshman QBs in Faizon Brandon. What can they do against a formidable Longhorn defense that has national championship aspirations?

Speaking of SEC teams flying under the radar, not only does Jon Sumrall have the Gators ranked just three games into his tenure, but they are favored against an Ole Miss team coming off a big-time revenge game victory over the most hated man in college football. Keep an eye on Florida RB Jadan Baugh. The Decatur native is tied for the FBS lead in rushing TDs (8) and 2nd in the country in rushing yards per game (152.7). If he can lead them to a big win here, he’ll immediately vault to the top of the Heisman conversation.

Let’s pivot to the Big Ten Pretender Bowl! Oregon has a slight lead courtesy of a Week 2 loss to Oklahoma State. They tried to make us forget about it by running up the score in their 84-0 win over lowly Portland last week, but you can’t trick us. Meanwhile, Southern Cal has made it to 4-0 by the skin of its ass cheeks against FBS teams that you think might be FCS teams. They are quite obviously building towards a big loss. Does it happen this week? Neither of these schools play defense, so expect a close, high-scoring affair!

The postseason is here! We don’t know the matchups yet or the actual start time for the Prime Video game, but the postseason is here! The Aces are seeking their 4th title in 5 years, and they look really good at the moment. Or is this the year the Lynx finally break through? Who knows?!? The ABC games are at 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm, and the USA Network matchup starts at 9:00 pm.

The NFL travels to Brazil! As I wrote about in your new favorite weekly NFL column, the Ravens are coming off a befuddling home loss to the Saints. They once again seemed to forget that Derrick Henry is an absolute monster, and stopped giving him the ball against a Saints defense that gave up 156 yards and 2 TDs to Jahmyr Gibbs the week before. Will they even remember to fly him to Rio?

The Cowboys bounced back from a disappointing season-opening loss to overwhelm the Commanders last week in a game in which Dak Prescott passed Tony Romo to become the franchise’s all-time leader in TD passes. I feel like someone who has put up the numbers he’s put up, particularly for this team, should have a higher profile nationally. The closest cross-sport comp for him I could think of is Dame Lillard, but he’s spent his career with smaller market teams. Maybe Dak will become huge in Brazil. Two good teams, even if they don’t always play like it, so this should be a fun watch.

Speaking of international football, the Rams returned from Australia and immediately looked like the dominant team we thought they’d be heading into the season. Matthew Stafford threw 4 TD passes, Devante Adams caught 2 of them to go along with his 195 yards receiving, and their defense turned the Giants’ bodies into mush and bones. Oh, and Aaron Donald played in his first game since 2023 and looked like he hasn’t missed a snap. Broncos QB Bo Nix, who isn’t exactly known for his stellar pocket awareness, may want to call in sick for this one.

Soccer loves a good international competition. This is why the Premier League is on break, by the way. I’m not sure if all of the stars will play, but if they do, this will be a star-studded affair. France is one of the few teams for which a World Cup semifinal run is considered a disappointment. The Belgians crushed Team USA 4-1 before losing a close one to eventual World Cup champion Spain in the quarterfinals. Tap in!

The Stanley Cup champion Hurricanes open up the regular season against a Florida Panthers team trying to regroup after missing last year’s postseason. We’re still learning about this sport, but we’re tuning in from the jump for the first time in Screen Shots history, which feels like a good start.

Matter of fact, let’s throw the MLB in there, too. The Yankees will play in one of these games, most likely without injured star Aaron Judge. Pretty strong chance they face off against the Red Sox. So a little rivalry action early on!

Perhaps a glimpse into the future. Manager Mauricio Pochettino left big-match failure Christian Pulisic off the squad for these friendlies, who I will not miss even a little bit. Poch called up 16-year-old MLS star Cavan Sullivan. As someone who lived through the Freddy Adu stuff, I’m pulling for Sullivan to live up to the hype.
